A family business in transition
Jonnie and Thérèse Boer have put Dutch gastronomy on the map worldwide with De Librije. After years of hard work, they want to step back and spend more time on their beloved Bonaire. Their daughter Isabelle is gaining experience in their restaurant there, while she struggles with the question of whether she wants to return to Zwolle. Son Jimmie works as chef de partie in the kitchen of De Librije and is searching for his own style, including an internship in Bangkok. Nelson Tanate, once started as an intern, has worked his way up to chef and is doing everything he can to maintain the restaurant’s high standards.
